About LocalVideoKit
Private, in-browser video tools. No server uploads.
The Motivation
Most online video converters require users to upload their personal video and audio files to remote cloud servers. This exposes sensitive recordings, wastes network bandwidth, and presents security risks.
LocalVideoKit was created to prove that modern browsers have sufficient computing power — via WebCodecs, WebAssembly, and hardware-accelerated rendering — to process video directly on user devices without server involvement.
Modern Web Standards
Leveraging native WebCodecs hardware decoders and encoders for maximum throughput and minimal battery consumption.
Built on Open Standards
Built with Next.js and established open-source media libraries like Mediabunny, running entirely on standard browser APIs — no proprietary plugins or closed runtimes required.
